The Breath of the Forest
I can lose myself for days at a time, observing the meditative calm that forests, and trees generally, uniquely engender. Of all photographic genres, forest photography is closest to my heart. That’s possibly because I find pleasing forestry images more elusive, so a successful capture is doubly rewarding. Superficially, forest appear to be places of chaos, and yet the overall effect is often one of profound peacefulness.
The challenge of attempting to distill that contradiction into a two-dimensional image and compose a clear, balanced narrative is one that I will probably never fully meet but is, perhaps, more enjoyable for that.
